Dripping Ink Technique - Swallowtail

Here's a fun technique I learned at the Stampin' Up! Dallas Regional.  I'm calling it the Dripping Ink Technique.  Take a piece of Watercolor paper and color different lines about 3/4" thick with Stampin' Write Markers about half way down the paper.  Then sit the paper upright and spray with water until it drips.  You can stamp directly over it with StazOn once it's dry.  However, I stamped the Swallowtail image onto a Medium Window Sheet and attached it over the Watercolor paper using a thin layer of Crystal Effects.
Colors used: Real Red (retiring), More Mustard (retiring), Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Certainly Celery (retiring), Bashful Blue (retiring), Regal Rose (retiring), and Pale Plum. Visit my online store today for FREE SHIPPING this weekend!

  1. This is really pretty! I wonder if you could heat emboss the image over it?

    1. That's a great idea! I'm sure you could especially if you use Craft Ink. You would just have to wait until it was really dry.
