We Create Blog Hop - June Step it Up and New Catalog Premier

Welcome to our June Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who love to create a simple project and then a “stepped up” version.  The new Stampin' Up! Catalog goes live today, so enjoy the premier. I'm so happy you stopped by.
Simple Version

Featuring . . . Touches of Texture. This simple card was created with a Crumb Cake base and a piece of the NEW Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack. The flower is stamped in Old Olive and Crushed Curry. The background splatter is stamped in Soft Sky. "Hello" was cut out with the Hello You Thinlits Die in matching wood texture DSP.

Stepped Up Version
The stepped up version was created by first stamping the flower image onto Watercolor Paper. I inked the flower stamp (from Touches of Texture) with Stampin' Write Markers in Old Olive and Crushed Curry. Then carefully, using the Stamp-a-ma-jig, I re-stamped over the flower image with Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder directly over the image. This sets the image so that it won't smear when I do my watercoloring. Next, I stamped the splatter image from Touches of Texture using Versamark directly in the middle of the watercolor paper and clear embossed. I then sponged on Old Olive and Soft Sky. I spritzed generously with water and used the heat tool to dry the watercoloring and move the colors around. I just love all of the textures!

    1. Thank you Gloria! I thought about leaving off the "hello" on the first card, but then I felt like it just needed a little something. I might try it with a darker wood paper.
