Let's Stay Up Late and Craft!

The new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog just launched! My favorite collection is the Follow Your Art Suite on pages 52-54. This card was created for a new catalog swap using this suite. You can save 10% by purchasing the stamp and coordinating die in the It Starts with Art Bundle (151090). The adorable silver heart charm, felt heart and linen thread all came from the Follow Your Art Embellishment Kit (149491). The office clip was stamped and cut out with the coordinating Arts and Crafts Dies.

We Create In Color 2018-2020 Blog Hop

Happy May Day! Welcome to this month's Blog Hop with the We Create Design Team. Our theme is the 2018-2020 Stampin' Up! In Colors. I'm featuring the stamp set, Barn Door from the 2019 Occasions Catalog. This set will be carrying over into the new Stampin' Up! catalog which comes out in June!  This stamp set coordinates with the Sliding Door Framelits. There are ten stops along the way, so be sure to read all the way to the bottom and click the NEXT button to visit my talented friend Sharon's blog, Studio Shabaz - CreativeMe68.
These slider cards are easy to make with perfect placement every time using the coordinating dies. This is definitely a must have for your collection, especially if you love cards that move. The barn door slides to the left to reveal the other side of the sentiment. I used all of the 2018-2020 In Colors!
I've found these size #8 flat washers to be the best and are the lightest. They work best with mini dimensionals. You need 8 washers per card.
Here's a past video I created to show you how to assemble you card:

Easter Flip Book and Notecard Holder

This bunny is so cute from the Stampin' Up! Fable Friends set! I created this little flip book and four notecards for an Easter swap. I got the idea for the flip book from Marilyn Brown. She's an amazing artist and friend I follow on Twitter and Periscope. Click HERE to watch her video tutorial.
Here is a close up of the flip book cover. I used lots of dies and punches. I had my colors coordinate with the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper. The little bunny is colored with Watercolor Pencils and blended using a Blender Pen.
There are four pages inside and the back is a pocket which holds the envelopes for the notecards. The flip book is 4-1/2" x 6" and the notecards are 3-1/2" x 5". I've been obsessed lately with the pre-cut and pre-scored Whisper White Notecards and Envelopes (131527). You can get 20 cards and envelopes for only $6.50 USD plus tax and shipping.
I embossed the envelope flaps with the Quilt Top Embossing folder. The back pocket holds 4 envelopes comfortably.
Here's a look at the notcards. Four notecards fit nicely in the flip book pockets. I would suggest using a plain piece of 12" x 12" paper to make a protype first, so you can practice your folds before starting your flip book. You can click on any of the photos for a larger view. Here are the measurements:

We Create In Color 2018-2019 Blog Hop

Welcome to April's Blog Hop with the We Create Design Team! Our theme is the 2017-2019 Stampin' Up! In Colors which includes Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst and Fresh Fig.  I'm featuring the stamp set, All the Good Things from the 2019 Occasions Catalog. There are ten stops along the way, so be sure to read all the way to the bottom and click the NEXT button to visit my talented friend Sharon's blog, Studio Shabaz - CreativeMe68.
I created this colorful card by cutting out an 8-1/2" X 5-1/2" card base in Fresh Fig. Fold in half and set aside.  Next, cut 1" x 4" strips of cardstock from the In Color 8-1/2" x 11" Cardstock pack 2017-2019. Glue the strips to a 4" x 5-1/4" base. I used the Swirls and Curls Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folder to emboss this piece. Next I cut it out with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Die (3-3/4" x 5-1/8"). Glue this to the front of your card. Die cut three rectangle pieces the same size (2-5/8" x 4") using Shimmery White, Powder Pink and Lemon Lime Twist.
I used an emboss resist technique on this image. Here's how! Using the Stamparatus, stamp the koi and the sentiment by coloring on the stamp with Stampin' Write Markers in the In Colors onto the Shimmery White rectangle. Stamp the image being careful not to move the stamp. Clean the stamp with the Simply Shamy and ink it with Versamark. Stamp over the image again with the Versamark and emboss with clear embossing powder. I hand stamped the water lillies then stamped over them with Versamark by hand. Here's a look at the inside of the card.
I had an extra image and simply attached it to a card base from the pre-cut Note Cards and Envelopes (131527). Using Shimmery White cardstock allows you to watercolor on the image without it tearing. I scribbled with Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist on a craft mat and used an Aqua Painter to pick up the colors and drip and swirl them over the image. Since the koi and sentiment is embossed it keeps those colors from bleeding. Once the piece was dry I embossed it with the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
Using the same pre-cut notecards I colored directly on the stamp using Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide Stampin' Write Markers for a #simplestamping easy card. Join Stampin' Up's April #simplestamping challenge and post your creation on social media using the hashtag #simplestamping. Here are the creative parameters: Theme: Any occasion; Supplies: Stamps, ink, and paper; Twist: One of the retiring In Colors has to be featured in some way.

We Create Subtles Collection Blog Hop

Welcome to March's Blog Hop with the We Create Design Team! Our theme is "Subtles" which includes any of the colors in the Stampin' Up! Subtle Collection Palette.  I'm using the stamp set, Amazing Life from the 2019 Occasions Catalog. There are eight stops along the way, so be sure to read all the way to the bottom and click the NEXT button to visit Tricia's blog, Tricia's Stamping Creations.  Introducing the subtle collection:
My subtle color combo includes Pear Pizzazz, Mint Macaron and Soft Sea Foam. I colored in the word LUCK using those three colors with Stampin' Write Markers then added Wink of Stella for shimmer.

This fun fold is very easy to put together. The base is just two pieces of Pear Pizzazz. The longer piece is folded in half and glued on top of the left side of the card base.
I used accent pieces in black and white from the Botanical Butterfly DSP. You can get this paper free during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 purchase. The squares were cut from the Layering Squares stitched framelits. The flowers, which remind me of a clover field, were cut out with the Lovely Flowers Edgelits dies. The shamrock on the front was created with three hearts from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits dies.
I took the same design from the Good Luck embellishment and made it a bit smaller. I created a set of four notecards using the Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes. These cards measure 5" x 3-1/4". A standard card is 5-1/2" x 4-1/4".

I used the little heart from the Dog Builder Punch to create the three leaf clover in the top left corner of the embellishment.  The envelope flap was stamped with the clover from the Amazing Life set in Pear Pizzazz.
I decorated the inside of the cards with sentiments from the Amazing Life stamp set and strips of Botanical Butterfly DSP. Four of these little notecards and four envelopes fit inside this custom box. I got the idea from my friend Sharlene Luciano's blog. Click HERE for her blog post and measurements for the box.
