My Inky Friends Design Challenge #4 MIFDC4

Today I'm playing along with the fourth design challenge from My Inky Friends. It's a color challenge challenge based on four colors featured on page 79 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog - Pear Pizzaz, Blushing Bride, Marina Mist and Pool Party!

We would love it if you took part and joined in on the fun. All you have to do is design a card (based on the theme featured above) and upload it to the My Inky Friends Blog. After the link closes on Friday, April 6, 2018, we will post a winner. If you upload to an online gallery, please use the keyword MIFDC4.

  1. Follow the general design of a sketch, although it can be flipped. For a color challenge, Stampin’ Up! colors will be listed. You can use compatible colors and add neutrals as needed.
  2. Create something new that has not been posted before.
  3. Post your creation on your blog or online gallery.  Please provide a link back to our challenge. Provide a direct link to your project or post to the Linky.
  4. Feel free to combine with up to three challenges, as long as you include a link to the Inky Friends post.
  5. Have fun!

My Inky Friends Hidden Gems Blog Hop

Welcome to My Inky Friends' Blog Hop! This month we are featuring Hidden Gems from the Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog. With all the excitement of the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs, we thought it would be fun to put the focus back on the annual catalog and show you some products that we love! Should you get lost during the blog hop, you may find a list of participants on the Inky Friends blog page. You may have arrived from Mickey's blog, Paper Conversation, where she featured Pocketful of Sunshine. I'm excited to show you what I created using the Watercolor Wings stamp set.
I created six 4" x 4" notecards.  There are three different sizes of butterflies in this stamp set and they coordinate with TWO different set of dies - the Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies and the Butterflies Thinlits Dies. You can click on any of the photos to get a closer look at each card.
The shape of the Butterfly thinlits die fits right over the butterfly stamped image. Both of the images above were stamped on 2" x 2" watercolor paper using Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo. I lightly spritzed water over the stamped image to make it blurry and added water spots by flicking an Aqua Painter dipped in ink onto the image.
I created the background on these two cards using the dappled water color technique that was featured on the Splitcoast Stampers tutorial this month.  I spritzed a piece of watercolor paper with water and used a very wet Aqua Painter to wash Dapper Denim across the piece. While it was wet, I flicked drops of Daffodil Delight re inker across the piece, then flicked clear Wink of Stella Shimmer. The butterfly above and the Amazing You letters on the black card base were cut out from Marina Mist cardstock. I used a Dapper Denim Stampin' Write Marker across the bottom of the letters and across the top, bottom and center of the butterfly to create an ombre look. I used an Aqua Painter to blend the colors out a little and added Wink of Stella when dry.

The two cards above were stamped onto 3" x 3" watercolor paper with Real Red and Daffodil Delight.  I used Brushos in Brilliant Red, Yellow and Gamboge and carefully spritzed with water to get the desired angle and effect of the spray.  I used an Aqua Painter and flicked it to make ink drops with Daffodil Delight.  Once it was completely dry, I stamped the sentiment with clear Versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please say hello and leave a comment.  Now it's time to move ahead to see how Tanya used the Pop of Paradise set.  Hop on over to Tinkerin In Ink With Tanya to see what she created for us.

We Create Blog Hop - Step it Up March

Hello March! Welcome to our Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who create a simple project and then a “stepped up” version on the first of every month.  I'm featuring a Paper Pumpkin project because there's a special promotion this month. Read below for the exciting details!

Isn't this just the cutest! I created this card exactly as the February Paper Pumpkin kit intended. I used some of the extra pieces in the kit to create a gift tag to go with a DIY bath bomb that I made a for a friend's birthday. It fit nicely in one of the Tiny Clear Acetate Boxes. When you are a Paper Pumpkin subscriber you can purchase past kits and kit refills too!

I needed a simple masculine birthday card so I created this Paper Pumpkin alternative card using the negative space of the sticker in the kit.  I just colored some vertical squiggly lines onto a piece of whisper white cardstock using Stampin Blends, stuck the sticker on top and cut around it.
I used a toothpick to help place the tiny letter centers in place. This was a Paper Pumpkin tip. I hope you enjoyed my creations. Please leave a comment and let me know if you have any questions. Thank you so much for stopping by! To see what the other bloggers' stepped up cards look like, hop on over to my creative friend Julie's blog, See Julie Stamp by clicking the Next Blog button below:
