Grow with the Poppin' Pastel Technique

This technique is an oldie but a goodie. I used this Grow stamp that I got as a souvenir from  the Stampin' Up! Convention last year. Every year they feature a new stamp for Convention attendees featuring the theme of that year's Convention. My color combination for this card is Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi. I used Very Vanilla for the sentiment base. To do the Poppin' Pastel technique, just ink your stamp with Whisper White Craft ink or Versamark. I used Whisper White Craft ink. Then using a Sponge Dauber and Stampin' Pastels, color over the ink. I used the Certainly Celery Pastel toward the top of the sentiment and blended down with Wild Wasabi. For our next Stamp Club we will make a creativity journal and write a letter to ourselves using this card. Start out the letter with, "Dear (your name), You are capable of so many remarkable things!" Then compliment yourself and have a friend mail it to you at a later date. When it arrives, add it to your creativity journal.

A Valentine Easel Card for my Gnomie

This is the easel card I created after being inspired by the video below. It's a Valentine for my sweetie that says, "to gnome you is to love you." I stamped the gnomes on watercolor paper and used Stampin' Write Markers and a blender pen to color them  in. My feature colors are So Saffron, Real Red and Pacific Point. Happy Valentine's Day to all of my stampin' Gnomies!

Happy Birthday Scrappy Card

Here's another take on the butterfly card I previously made using torn scraps and a negative die image as the focal point. This time I used Fun Flowers Bigz L Die (121812) and scraps of Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. The flower die frame is made with Pool Party Card Stock stamped with the SAB Fresh Vintage Stamp Set in Versamark. The edges are inked with a sponge dauber and Pool Party Classic Ink. The Happy Birthday Dear You sentiment is from the Happiest Birthday Wishes Hostess set and the Hand Crafted sentiment is from the Tiny Tags stamp set. The card base is Soft Suede Card Stock. If you look at the listing of your designer series paper in one of the Stampin' Up! catalogs you will see a color key below the description. These are the colors of the paper pack which helps you choose coordinating card stock and accessories, like brads.

Creating Pretty Cards Sketch Challenge #8

This month I designed the card sketch for Craft Project Central using Stampin' Up's My Digital Studio. I hope this will inspire you. Here's a FREE Sketch Mini Tutorial that has information about how the inspiration card (using the sketch) was created, supplies used, and basic measurements. You should play along too. Each week the project designers will pick their top two favorite entries. At the end of the month five random winners are chosen from the eight favorites, and the winners will receive a FREE subscription to the month of their choice on Craft Project Central.  Instead of just one winner every month, there are going to be five!
