My Inky Friends Design Challenge #3 - MIFDC3

Today I'm playing along with the third design challenge from My Inky Friends. It's a sketch challenge based on the card featured on page 10 of the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog.

We would love it if you took part and joined in on the fun. All you have to do is design a card and upload it to the My Inky Friends Blog. After the link closes on Friday, March 9, 2018, we will post a winner. If you upload to an online gallery, please use the keyword MIFDC3.

  1. Follow the general design of a sketch, although it can be flipped. For a color challenge, Stampin’ Up! colors will be listed. You can use compatible colors and add neutrals as needed.
  2. Create something new that has not been posted before.
  3. Post your creation on your blog or online gallery.  Please provide a link back to our challenge. Provide a direct link to your project or post to the Linky.
  4. Feel free to combine with up to three challenges, as long as you include a link to the Inky Friends post.
  5. Have fun!

My Inky Friends Stampin' Up! Blog Hop: Love it. Live it. Share it.

Welcome to My Inky Friends' Blog Hop! This month we are featuring crafty ideas using products from the brand new Occasions Catalog.  This catalog went live on January 3rd and runs through May 31, 2018. Should you get lost during the blog hop, you may find a list of participants on the Inky Friends blog page. You may have arrived from Shelley's blog, Miss Mad Stamper, where she featured the Hold on to Hope Bundle. I'm excited to show you what I created with the Bubble Over Bundle (146082) on page 32 of the Occasions Catalog.
This set has just exploded on Pinterest and there are tons of ideas! I was inspired by Sarah Klass.  I did an emboss resist on the front of the card where I stamped the bubbles with clear Versamark on Whisper White cardstock and embossed with clear embossing powder. I sponged on rows of color starting at the bottom and sponging upward to leave some white space at the top. Can you see the clear bubbles toward the top? Those are the new Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes on page 33. The coordinating framelits cut out the bottles from the matching DSP in the SAB catalog (which you can get free with a $50 purchase).  Just Look at the surprise on the inside...
I used the Wood Textures DSP and Wood Crate Framelits. I made a similar card HERE where I used flowers instead. I just had to try it with the bottles. You can also make it without the DSP like this...
To coordinate with the crate theme, I created this little Valentine's Day treat. Remember these Nik-L-Nip wax mini drink bottles? Eight of them fit in a little cello bag. I added some SAB ribbon and made a little bottle top embellishment. The Happy Valentine's Day sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and fits perfectly within the Classic Label Punch.

I created two traditional cards below. The left card does not use any Designer Series Paper. The images are all stamped.  The card on the right uses the Bubbles and Fizz DSP:
I just love the little bottle lid which you can cut out with the matching framelit. For the card above I stamped the images in the bottle caps. For the card below I cut them out with the DSP.
Here's another set of cards using this same layout, except I popped off the lid and used the straw.  You can see how it looks with different pieces of the Bubbles and Fizz DSP:
Thank you for stopping by. Please say hello and leave a comment. Now it's time to move ahead to see how Yapha used the Sunshine & Rainbows set. Hop on over to to see what she created for us.
You can order any of the supplies to make this card by visiting  If you need a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would love to earn your business.  I used these supplies:

  • Designer Series Paper: Bubbles and Fizz DSP (SAB Free with $50 Purchase), Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack, Watercolor Paper

Video: How to Make a Stampin' Up! Barn Door Slider Card

One of my goals for 2018 was to make a stamping video. I've had a lot of requests on how to make this card. Hope you enjoy my first how to video. Here are the instructions to make the slider card, just like the one on page 43 of the Stampin' Up! 2018 Occasions catalog. You can see my original blog post with the supplies used HERE.

We Create Blog Hop - Step it Up February!

Hello February! Welcome to our Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who create a simple project and then a “stepped up” version on the first of every month. There are two Stampin' Up! events happening now: the 2018 Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-Bration catalogs are live. The Sale-a-Bration (SAB) catalog offers free items that you can get with either a $50 or $100 purchase. You can click on the image on the right to upload a PDF version of each catalog. I'm featuring the Heart Happiness stamp and lovely Valentine's treat boxes stepped up with the new Brusho Crystal Colours.
My simple treat box features the Mini Pizza Boxes (144645), just the right size for holding a cookie, 3" x 3" note cards or Valentine's candy. I created a clean Whisper White panel. I made the heart strip on the bottom with the die from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. The two larger hearts were cut out with the Sweet and Sassy Framelits which coordinate with the Heart Happiness stamp set.

Have you heard of Brusho Crystal Colour (144101)? You might miss it if you don't look carefully at page 26 of the Occasions Catalog. I created these stepped up boxes by first cutting out the larger heart and using it as a mask with repositionable tape. Brusho's are watercolor ink crystals. I just sprinkled red Brusho very lightly onto the paper and sprayed with water in a diagonal direction and let dry. I added an even tinier bit of yellow and sprayed with water. Once dry, I removed the heart mask and adhered at an angle to look like it is gently falling. The Valentine's sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Each one is a little bit different. I created some Valentine's Day tags to go along with the treat boxes . . .
I created a mask again with the heart and sprinkled on the Brusho Colours, sprayed with water and let dry. Once dry, I stamped the heart clusters from the Heart Happiness set using Real Red, and stamping off once for a lighter effect.

I hope you enjoyed my creations. Please leave a comment and let me know if you have any questions. Thank you so much for stopping by! To see what the other bloggers' stepped up cards look like, hop on over to my creative friend Julie's blog, See Julie Stamp by clicking the Next Blog button below:

You can order any of the supplies to make these treat boxes and tags by visiting and choose me as your demonstrator if you like. I used these supplies:
