My Inky Friends All Occasions Blog Hop

Today I'm blog hopping with eight of My Inky Friends where we are sharing Stampin' Up! creations made with items from the 2019 Occasions Catalog. I'm featuring the Meant to Be Bundle which includes the Meant to Be stamp set and Be Mine Stitched Framelits dies.
Should you get lost during the blog hop, you can find a list of participants on the My Inky Friends blog page.  You may have arrived from Shelley's creative blog, Miss Mad Stamper where she featured Humming Along. Be sure to read all the way to the end and click the Next Blog to visit Mickey's creative blog, Paper Conversation, where she is featuring the Butterfly Gala stamp set.
I was inspired to create this Valentine's Day sampler from Susan Levasseur's Forever Lovely On Stage display. I love creating home decor items for every occasion!  The base is a 12" x 12" piece of All My Love DSP. The second layer is an 8" x 8" piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock. The sampler was created on an 8-1/2" x 8'1/2" Whisper White cardstock base. I have provided the measurements below.
Here's a close up of the scenes featured on the sampler. I challenged myself to only use the sentiments featured in the Meant to Be stamp set. The word "love" was cut out with the Layering Alphabet dies and all of the heart dies were created from the from the coordinating Be Mine Stitched Framelits dies.
Did you know that the coordinating color combination is listed on the Stampin' Up! website with the description of the Designer Series Paper pack of your choice. That makes it easy for me when deciding on a color palette. The All My Love DSP coordinates with Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo, Lovely Lipstick, Soft Sea Foam and Whisper White. I used a touch of each. I love the touches of Balmy Blue flowers.
The Happy Valentine's Day sentiment above was stamped with Versarmark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I used Flirty Flamingo with a sponge dauber to create this emboss resist technique. The Soft Sea Foam and Balmy Blue accent flowers were created using the new Bitty Bloom Punch Pack. They remind me of delicate water lilies. The centers are adorned with Clear Epoxy Droplets.

I clear embossed the heart outline below and colored in the flowers using a touch of Lovely Lipstick from the lid of the stamp pad and an Aqua Painter. The leaves were colored the same way using Soft Sea Foam. I lightly inked the edges of the heart with a Sponge Dauber and Flirty Flamingo. The sentiment is stamped in Flirty Flamingo as well.

Paper Bag Valentine Card - Hot Chocolate Holder

This cute Valentine's Day card is created out of brown paper lunch bag and holds a hot chocolate packet inside the back pocket. I used the All My Love Designer series paper featured in the 2019 Occasions Catalog and the Coffee Cups Framelits dies. The LOVE sentiment on the hot chocolate cup was stamped in Lovely Lipstick using the Labels to Love stamp set.
The cup swings open to reveal the Happy Valentine's Day sentiment from the Meant to Be stamp set in the 2019 Occasions Catalog. It's punched out with the Everyday Label punch and sits on a scalloped heart edge cut out with the Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies also in the Occasions Catalog.
The inside sentiment, Sweet Wishes is stamped in Flirty Flamingo from the Hello Cupcake set which is free during Sale-a-Bration with a $50 purchase.

  • To create the bag, just cut off the top so that your bag measures 8 1/2" and fold in half.
  • Lovely Lipstick 1/2" ribbon from the All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack 8".
  • Flirty Flamingo 1/8" ribbon from the All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack 6".
  • White Baker's Twine 6".
  • Lovely Lipstick cardstock 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" (front), 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" (inside).
  • All My Love DSP (heart piece) 2" x 3-1/2".
  • Flirty Flamingo (arm) 1-1/2" x 3" and score at 1-1/2" for the fold across the front.
TIP: Attach the Flirty Flamingo arm inside the back pocket before adding the coffee cup framelit. I cut out the shape with the DSP and glued it to the front of the arm. I didn't want the back of the coffee cup to show so I cut out another cup using the thick white cardboard piece that's in with the DSP pack to make it thicker and cover the back.

We Create Blushing Blog Hop

Welcome to February's Blushing Blog Hop with the We Create Design Team! Our theme is "Blushing" which includes Pinks and Reds of any shade. I'm using the Sale-a-Bration stamp set, So Hoppy Together which is free with any $50 purchase. There are nine stops along the way, so be sure to read all the way to the bottom and click the NEXT button to visit the next blogger.
I created this trio of cards to show all three of the cute little frogs featured in this set. My blushing color combo includes, Lovely Lipstick, Melon Mambo, and Flirty Flamingo.
This blushing watercolor background was done on Whisper White cardstock. Ideally, I would have used Shimmery White (because it's thicker), but I went light with the water. I scribbled my first blushing color with a Stampin' Write Marker onto my craft mat and used an Aqua Painter to pick up the color to create a wash using the colors listed above.  I created a second piece like this and cut out the hearts using the Be Mine Stitched Framelits. The three little juggling hearts came from the center of the framelit hearts.
I used the remainder of the hearts to create this lovely scene. I wanted to lighten the background (All My Love Designer Series Paper piece), so I covered it with Shimmery White Embossing Paste. I placed a few of the Heart Epoxy Droplets over the coordinating size hearts for dimension and fun!
Thanks for visiting our blog hop! Please leave a comment. I love to hear from you! Happy Valentine's Day. Click the Next button below to visit Tricia's Stampin Creations to see her blushing project.
