We Create In Color 2018-2019 Blog Hop

Welcome to April's Blog Hop with the We Create Design Team! Our theme is the 2017-2019 Stampin' Up! In Colors which includes Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst and Fresh Fig.  I'm featuring the stamp set, All the Good Things from the 2019 Occasions Catalog. There are ten stops along the way, so be sure to read all the way to the bottom and click the NEXT button to visit my talented friend Sharon's blog, Studio Shabaz - CreativeMe68.
I created this colorful card by cutting out an 8-1/2" X 5-1/2" card base in Fresh Fig. Fold in half and set aside.  Next, cut 1" x 4" strips of cardstock from the In Color 8-1/2" x 11" Cardstock pack 2017-2019. Glue the strips to a 4" x 5-1/4" base. I used the Swirls and Curls Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folder to emboss this piece. Next I cut it out with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Die (3-3/4" x 5-1/8"). Glue this to the front of your card. Die cut three rectangle pieces the same size (2-5/8" x 4") using Shimmery White, Powder Pink and Lemon Lime Twist.
I used an emboss resist technique on this image. Here's how! Using the Stamparatus, stamp the koi and the sentiment by coloring on the stamp with Stampin' Write Markers in the In Colors onto the Shimmery White rectangle. Stamp the image being careful not to move the stamp. Clean the stamp with the Simply Shamy and ink it with Versamark. Stamp over the image again with the Versamark and emboss with clear embossing powder. I hand stamped the water lillies then stamped over them with Versamark by hand. Here's a look at the inside of the card.
I had an extra image and simply attached it to a card base from the pre-cut Note Cards and Envelopes (131527). Using Shimmery White cardstock allows you to watercolor on the image without it tearing. I scribbled with Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist on a craft mat and used an Aqua Painter to pick up the colors and drip and swirl them over the image. Since the koi and sentiment is embossed it keeps those colors from bleeding. Once the piece was dry I embossed it with the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
Using the same pre-cut notecards I colored directly on the stamp using Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide Stampin' Write Markers for a #simplestamping easy card. Join Stampin' Up's April #simplestamping challenge and post your creation on social media using the hashtag #simplestamping. Here are the creative parameters: Theme: Any occasion; Supplies: Stamps, ink, and paper; Twist: One of the retiring In Colors has to be featured in some way.
