Bisque Pottery Technique Tissue Box Cover Tutorial
I was inspired to try this Bisque Pottery technique from a gorgeous card I saw on http://www.stampinaddicts.com/ by Laurie Zoellmer. She described how she originally got this idea from her upline, Dianna Gibbs. Here's how it's done: You just roll your brayer in your Crumb Cake inkpad. Then roll the inked brayer inside of the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. You want to ink the side of your embossing folder with the Sizzix and Stampin' Up! logo on the back. Place whisper white cardstock in the embossing folder and run through your Big Shot. It's so easy and comes out beautifully every time!
I was inspired to make this Kleenex tissue box cover from one of my favorite stampers, Anne Matasci. I used this tutorial from the Splitcoaststampers website.
Here is what you will need to make this one:
Two pieces 5 1/8" x 9 1/2" of Crumb Cake CS for the base, One 6 9/16" piece of Crumb Cake CS for the lid, Four pieces of 4 1/4" x 4" Whisper White for the base layers, One 4 1/4" square piece of Whisper White for the lid base layer and Four pieces of 4 1/4" x 3/4" pieces of Whisper White Cardstock for the lid side layers.
Score the long sides of each of the two 5 1/8" x 9 1/2" at 1/2" and 5". Use double sided sticky tape to adhere these together to form the box frame. Score the lid piece at 1" on all four sides and cut each corner once to the score line to enable it to fold into a lid shape. Trace the oval shape from the top of the the Kleenex box onto the middle of the lid and cut out with scissors. I cut out the Whisper White lid base piece with the Big Shot Magnetic Mover and Shaper star die. Run all of your pieces of Whisper White CS through the inked embossing folder for the bisque pottery technique, then use a glue stick to adhere to the cover base. I embellished the box with the Dasher stamp, stamped in Whisper White and embossed with white embossing powder, then added a Vintage Brad.

Brayer the Crumb Cake ink on the inside of the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder (with the SU and Sizzix logo on the back) to achieve the Bisque Pottery look. |
