My Inky Friends Carnival of Colors Blog Hop

The Stampin' Up! color revamp has brought a rainbow of new colors to our palette! I'm blog hopping with My Inky Friends to bring you a carnival of colors. Should you get lost during the blog hop, you can find a list of participants on the My Inky Friends blog page.  You may have arrived from Holly's blog, Rubber Redneck, where she featured Balmy Blue.  I'm excited to show you the star of my creation, Blackberry Bliss.

The Abstract Impressions Bundle saves you 10% and includes the Abstract Impressions stamp set and the Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies (page 129).  Die cut the flowers using watercolor paper. Color and splatter various shades of Blackberry Bliss using reinker and an Aqua Painter. Once dry, carefully glue it to a Very Vanilla mat.  Stamp the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss and die cut with the oval from the Stitched Shape Framelits Dies. Finish it off with a piece of Blackberry Bliss twine from, Nature's Twine.
I love using re-inkers to get different shades of the Blackberry Bliss color. I just put a small drop on my craft mat and use a very wet Aqua Painter to drip the color onto my paper. I used Very Vanilla cardstock for my background. The thank you sentiment is stamped onto watercolor paper with Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I did an emboss resist wash over the words with the Blackberry Bliss re-inker diluted with the Aqua Painter. The Basket Weave Embossing Folder enhances the card base.
Blackberry Bliss and Mint Macaron are just beautiful together. I cased this layout from a card on page 128 of the Annual Catalog. It's full of beautiful photos and samples.

  2. Kris, these are just fabulous! I was so happy when B.B. came back because it was such a rich, saturated color (and I had hoarded the retired stuff, lol). You really show its versatility with the various washes. I think the combo with Mint Macaron is my fave!
