Stampin' Up! Creative Challenge: Combining Two Coloring Techniques

Let’s stretch our creativity this month by blending two fun coloring techniques and joining in on the Stampin’ Up! Creative Challenge. For my project, I reached for the Terrific Toadstools stamp set—currently on the Last Chance list—and paired it with all five of the upcoming In Colors for a fresh, whimsical look.

To begin, I lightly brayered Hydrangea Hue across Basic White cardstock for a soft, dreamy backdrop. Then, using a circle cut from the Stylish Shapes dies as a DIY stencil, I added a thin layer of Ranger Distress Crackle Paste for subtle texture. Once everything dried, I stamped and punched a cluster of toadstools to bring the scene to life. I splattered on a few drops of White Gesso with a paint brush.

Each month on the first Wednesday, Stampin’ Up! releases a brand‑new Creative Challenge on Facebook and Instagram at 2:00 PM MT. If you miss it live, no worries—you can always catch the replay on their YouTube channel. Be sure to share your creations (or browse for inspiration) using #CreativeChallengeSU.

This month’s inspiration card from Stampin’ Up! features the adorable Sweet Bugs Bundle, and it definitely set the tone for a playful, nature‑inspired project.

If this whimsical stamp set inspires you too, I’ve shared another Terrific Toadstools card on my blog — you can find it here for even more ideas and color inspiration.

🌟Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek at today’s project. I hope this fun mix of texture, color, and technique inspires you to try the Creative Challenge this month too.
