We Create Blog Hop - April Step it Up
Welcome to our April Blog Hop! We are a group of
Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who love to create a simple project and
then a “stepped up” version. It’s so fun to connect with each other and share ideas and creativity. I'm so happy you stopped by.
Featuring...the Hostess Set, Pun Intended from the 2016-2017 "Find Your Inspiration" Catalog. My simple card was created using only two layers. First, I stamped the lightbulb pattern onto the Whisper White card base. I rubbed the Embossing Buddy onto the 2" x 4" Night of Navy rectangle. Then I stamped the lightbulb and sentiment using Whisper White. While the ink was still wet, I embossed it with white embossing powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool. The bottom corners are rounded with the Project Life Corner punch. I tied a piece of Linen Thread as an accent around the top and bottom of the sentiment. The bulb is painted with Clear Wink of Stella to make it shimmer and added to the card base with a Stampin' Dimensional.
The stepped up card has four layers; the Whisper White Card base, a Night of Navy mat, then again, the lightbulbs stamped on Whisper White cardstock with Night of Navy ink and last, the Night of Navy accent piece with the lightbulb and sentiment. This time I colored all of the bulbs (using the current catalog image on page 200 as my inspiration.) I used a sponge dauber with Daffodil Delight ink to make the lights glow. The hearts are colored in with Flirty Flamingo ink and a Blender Pen. I added a small white accent dot to the upper left edge of the hearts with the White Stampin' Chalk Marker.
The accent bulb was stamped onto Whisper White cardstock in Night of Navy and hand cut with paper snips. Clear Wink of Stella covers the bulb for shimmer. The heart on the bulb is covered with thin layer of the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to give it dimension. I've seen a trend lately with sentiment words cut apart, so I hand cut, "you light up my life" and attached them with Stampin' Dimensionals cut to size. It's so cute and whimsical. I sponged the words with Daffodil Delight and painted them with Clear Wink of Stella.
