Fabulous at 30! My Inky Friends Annual Catalog Blog Hop
I love this octopus from the Sea of Textures stamp set and all of Stampin' Up's new colors. The Sea of Textures stamp coordinates with the Under the Sea Framelits die and saves you 10% when you purchase them together as a bundle HERE.
To create this cute octopus embellishment, color directly on the octopus stamp using Stampin' Write Markers in Soft Sea Foam and tiny bit of Highland Heather on the edges. Spritz the stamp with a bit of water and stamp onto a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock and cut him out with the coordinating die. I wanted him to look shiny, like he was wet, so I place him on a Versamark pad and pressed down evenly to coat the image. Then I heat embossed all over with clear embossing powder. I die cut another octopus in Coastal Cabana and attached this to the back of my embossed octopus using a mini dimensional to create a shadow and give him some weight. The card base is a returning color - Coastal Cabana.
Blackberry Bliss is another returning color used here, along with Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Crumb Cake and Whisper White.
I used a fun belly band fold here:
- The card base measures 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".
- The piece on the right in Blackberry Bliss measures 1-1/4" x 5". Score at 3-3/4" and glue to the back of the card.
- The wider piece on the left in Gorgeous Grape measures 8-1/2" x 2-3/4" and it is scored at 4-1/4" and glued to the back of the card, covering the thinner band.
