Fabulous at 30! My Inky Friends Annual Catalog Blog Hop

The NEW Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog for 2018-2019 is out: Love It, Live It, Share It - 30 Years of Loving What We Do.  Join My Inky Friends as we celebrate Stampin' Up's 30th anniversary with our Fabulous at 30 blog hop where we'll show you what you can create with Stampin' Up's new products that are available for purchase now. Should you get lost during the blog hop, you can find a list of participants on the My Inky Friends blog page. You may have arrived from Rhonda's blog, The Stampin' Bunny, where she featured Best Bunny. I'm excited to show you what I created using the Sea of Textures Bundle from the Tranquil Textures Suite on page 155 of the Annual Catalog.
I love this octopus from the Sea of Textures stamp set and all of Stampin' Up's new colors. The Sea of Textures stamp coordinates with the Under the Sea Framelits die and saves you 10% when you purchase them together as a bundle HERE.

To create this cute octopus embellishment, color directly on the octopus stamp using Stampin' Write Markers in Soft Sea Foam and tiny bit of Highland Heather on the edges. Spritz the stamp with a bit of water and stamp onto a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock and cut him out with the coordinating die. I wanted him to look shiny, like he was wet, so I place him on a Versamark pad and pressed down evenly to coat the image. Then I heat embossed all over with clear embossing powder. I die cut another octopus in Coastal Cabana and attached this to the back of my embossed octopus using a mini dimensional to create a shadow and give him some weight. The card base is a returning color - Coastal Cabana.

Blackberry Bliss is another returning color used here, along with Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Crumb Cake and Whisper White.
I used a fun belly band fold here:
  • The card base measures 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".
  • The piece on the right in Blackberry Bliss measures 1-1/4" x 5".  Score at 3-3/4" and glue to the back of the card.
  • The wider piece on the left in Gorgeous Grape measures 8-1/2" x 2-3/4" and it is scored at 4-1/4" and glued to the back of the card, covering the thinner band.
Card Back

My last card uses the Layering Alphabet Edgelits die and it's embellished with the shells and plants from the Under the Sea Framelits dies. Inside says, "Thanks for reaching out," stamped with the octopus from Sea of Textures.
Thank you for stopping by! Please say hello and leave a comment. Now it's time to move ahead and see what Heidi from Running W Scissors Stamper created with Lilypad Lake.
