Perfect Bath Bomb Recipe Using Young Living Stress Away

These bath bombs are the best! I searched the Internet and YouTube for bath bomb videos and recipes. My two favorites are from Hayley Williams and WhatsUpMoms. I combined their ideas with what I had on hand and came up with the perfect bath bomb recipe.

You will need:

Dry Ingredients-
1 cup Baking Soda
1/2 cup Citric Acid
1/2 cup Corn Starch
1/2 cup Lavender Epsom Salt

Wet Ingredients-
1 Tablespoon of melted 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
1-2 Teaspoons of Water
20 Drops of Young Living Stress Away Essential Oil

Extras-
Wilton Pearl Dust in pink and or purple
Betty Crocker Classic Gel Food Coloring
Plastic molds, such as plastic balls or Easter Eggs

In a large bowl mix the dry ingredients. In a small glass measuring cup mix the wet ingredients. Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and keep stirring and mixing until it looks like dry cake batter. You should be able to pinch the powder and see it stick together. If it looks too dry add a tiny 1/2 teaspoon of water at a time and keep mixing. It should feel dry in your hands but pack together when pinched.

If you want to add color to them you can divide the mixture into different bowls and add 2-3 drops of food coloring. The gel food coloring will look like spots when mixed in but will fizz out that color when added to the tub. It did not stain my tub. I added red and blue food coloring to each so that it looks purple when dissolving.

Pack the mixture tightly into a mold. I used clear plastic balls which I found at Michael's in the wedding section. I've also had success using small Easter Eggs. If you want a shimmer when dissolving in the tub, add some Wilton Pearl dust before placing in mold. It's made for food so it will dissolve in the water while soaking and looks really cool like fairy dust.
Let the bath bombs set up in the mold for a day or two before removing so that they have time to set into a ball shape. Slowly remove them from the mold. I just keep mine stored in the plastic balls until I'm ready to use them. They also fit in these Stampin' Up! clear acetate boxes to give as gifts once they have been removed from the mold.

This recipe makes 5 bath bombs. Please leave a comment or let me know if you have any questions. You can order the acetate boxes HERE. You can order the Young Living Essential Oil HERE. What's your favorite relaxing scent combination?
