Scary Stories Halloween Card - Using old Book Paper in Your Crafts

I love books! You can get old books from garage sales or thrift stores. One old book can last for years in your crafting projects.

For a great background piece, look for chapters or numbers you want to showcase. For this card I used Chapter 13 and took the number 31 from page 31 to place behind the window at the top of the haunted house. It's hard to tell from the pic, but the Tim Holtz Vault Haunted House is actually popped up on the card with Stampin' DImensionals. I attached different pages behind the windows.

Find words or a spooky saying in the book text and carefully tear to create a sentiment. I loved this, "I'll be seeing you" text. You can lightly spray the edges with Ranger Spiced Marmalade Spritz.

  1. This is such a clever and evocative use of book paper—Chapter 13 and page 31 are inspired choices that add a layer of storytelling to the haunted house. The way you tucked text behind the windows makes the whole scene feel alive, like the house itself is whispering secrets. That torn sentiment is perfectly eerie, and the Spiced Marmalade edging gives it just the right touch of vintage dread. Brilliantly spooky and beautifully crafted!
