Notes of Spring Floral Card Tutorial | Stampin’ Up!

Today I’m sharing a bright and cheerful handmade card that’s perfect for spring, Easter, birthdays, thank-you notes, or just to send a little happy mail. This card combines soft florals with bold outlines and texture, and it comes together quickly with a few favorite Stampin’ Up! supplies.

If you love floral cards that feel fresh and uplifting, this one is for you!

Supplies Used

(All supplies are available to order through me while supplies last!)

  • Notes of Spring Stamp Set - March Product of the Month
  • Card Base: Peach Pie Designer Series Paper
  • Lovely & Beautiful Specialty Designer Series Paper
  • Fresh Freesia Cardstock
  • Beautiful Blooms Paper Pumpkin Add-On Dies
  • Three Banner Punch

How to Create This Card

  1. Create the Card Base
Cut Peach Pie Cardstock to 8½" x 5½" and score at 4¼" to form a standard A2 card base.

  2. Add the Designer Series Paper
Choose a floral pattern from the Lovely & Beautiful Specialty Designer Series Paper and cut it 1/4 inch smaller than the card front. Adhere it to the front of the card to create a soft, elegant background. Place a strip of coordinating DSP behind the focal image.

  3. Stamp the Focal Image
Die cut two scallops from the Beautiful Blooms die in Basic White. Cut the left and right edges off of one them at 1-3/4". Cut 1-3/4" from the middle of the second die cut. Stamp a the deer from Notes of Spring stamp set onto the left piece, the bunny in the middle and the duck on the right. I used Crumb Cake to stamp the deer's coloring.

  4. Die Cut the Beautiful Sentiment
Use the Beautiful Blooms Die to cut out the word Beautiful. This die adds beautiful detail and dimension and is perfect for layering.

  5. Create the Banner
Cut a strip of cardstock or patterned paper and punch the end using the Three Banner Punch. This makes quick, clean banners that add interest and balance to your design. I used a retired stamp from my stash for the Happy Easter sentiment.

  6. Assemble the Card
Layer the stamped image, die-cut florals, and banner onto the card front. Use dimensionals where desired to give the card depth and texture.

  7. Finish with a Sentiment
Add a coordinating sentiment from the Notes of Spring stamp set or your stash to complete the card.

Why I Love This Card

The combination of the soft floral paper with the bold Peach Pie cardstock makes this card feel warm and happy. The floral dies add just the right amount of detail without overwhelming the design, and the banner punch is one of those tools you’ll reach for again and again.
