Score, Cut, Fold: Your Quickest Mini Album Yet
A couple of weeks ago at OnStage in Long Beach, Elisabeth Bellville with Stampin' Up! showed us how to create a genius mini album using just one sheet of 12" x 12" Basic White Cardstock for the base. I immediately thought about how perfect this is for crafting with limited supplies! I paired the base with my two favorite pieces from the Lovely & Beautiful Specialty Designer Series Paper, and ta-da a simple mini album was born using only three sheets of scrapbook paper!
Pro-Tip: I highly suggest making an extra template with scrap cardstock to keep on hand! Practice folding it without any glue first; this helps you visualize how the pockets and pages come together before you commit to your beautiful Designer Series Paper.Mini Album Base Instructions
Prepare Your Paper: Start with one sheet of 12" x 12" Cardstock.
Vertical Scoring: Score the cardstock vertically at 4" and 8".
Horizontal Scoring: Rotate or stay oriented and score the cardstock horizontally at 6".
Create Three Cuts:
On the left-hand middle horizontal score line, cut from the edge and stop at the 4" vertical score line.
Looking at the bottom right 4" x 6" rectangle, cut up the left vertical score line and stop at the 6" score line.
Trim the Bottom: Cut 3" off the bottom of the 4" x 6" rectangle in the bottom right as pictured above. (this should leave you with a 3" x 4" piece). Save this strip for later use.
Hold the Details: Do not glue any sections or cut the half-circle thumb notches yet. These steps should only be done after you have adhered your Lovely & Beautiful Specialty Designer Series Paper.
6. Cut Your Page Layers: You will need 9 pieces of designer series paper measuring 1/4 inch less than your panels. In this case, 5-3/4" x 3-3/4" each. If your paper is directional, be mindful of the orientation when you make your cuts. Take one of those pieces and cut it down to 3-3/4 x 2-3/4" for your pocket.
7. Embelish: Cut one piece 5-1/2" x 3-3/4" to pull out of the pocket. Use your leftover pieces to create a tag and a little card for the pocket.
Here's a video of how it all comes together.
